IFRAMIX Improves Livestock Welfare With HARDWARIO

IFRAMIX, a Czech company within the French CCPA group, uses HARDWARIO CHESTER to monitor livestock barn conditions and prevent animal stress through wireless IoT sensors.

HARDWARIO commits to sustainable improvement of Earth’s living conditions through digitalization and IoT technologies. Its modular CHESTER platform operates in harsh climatic conditions globally.

IFRAMIX is a Czech company within France’s leading CCPA group, offering consulting for livestock farmers and feed manufacturers. The organization develops natural products reducing drug usage while maintaining animal health. Current focus includes preventing animal stress from inappropriate temperature and humidity in livestock housing, where summer losses substantially impact farm economics.

The Challenge

We want farmers to be able to measure the conditions in which their animals live. Unsuitable barn conditions cause stress affecting health and farm economy negatively.

Solution Requirements

The device requires wireless capability and extended battery life for farmer mobility needs. Communication must be universal and functional in areas lacking standard LTE coverage. Device integration into CCPA’s internal systems must work regardless of communication type or route.

Implementation

CHESTER platform utilizes Teltonika wireless tags communicating with gateways via Bluetooth Low Energy across tens-of-meters distances. Aggregated data transmits via NB-IoT or LTE-M technology to HARDWARIO Cloud, then to Ubidots IoT platform, customized for IFRAMIX branding.

This solution’s key advantage lies in immediate, non-invasive deployability due to device longevity supporting several years of battery operation.

How It Works in Practice

CHESTER collects Teltonika sensor data providing accurate ambient temperature and humidity information. Monitoring results display in clear graphs enabling rapid farmer response. Data access occurs via web interface or smartphone applications.

Processed sensor data transmits through LPWAN NB-IoT or LTE-M technology to HARDWARIO Cloud and subsequently Ubidots platform reflecting IFRAMIX branding.

Future Outlook

The platform extends easily with additional sensors measuring values important for optimal livestock welfare. Organizations pursue intensive discussions regarding implementation scenarios.
